About KEYTA
The Keystone Teachers Association (KEYTA) was established to promote the professional status and growth of educators and the welfare of students. Organized in 1993 by a handful of teachers, KEYTA was formed to give educators a professional alternative to union membership.
Our Definition of Professionalism
Our Philosophy of Inclusiveness
Our Freedom of Association
Our Openness to Reform
Our Accuracy in Representation
Our Dues and Benefits
Our Emphasis on Cooperation
We believe that as educators, our primary purpose is to promote academic and ethical standards by which children can develop wisdom, knowledge, skills and confidence.
KEYTA members are not bound to funding multiple levels of a unified organizational structure, and as a result we are able to provide many services more economically.
The people we elect to represent us through our democratic form of government, especially at the state level, control public school funding, educator certification standards, curriculum, graduation requirements, school ratings, retirement benefits, and just about every other aspect of public education.
