Recent Grad Job Search Resources

If you are graduating this Spring, we would like to extend our warmest congratulations on your recent graduation! Graduating from college is a tremendous accomplishment that you should be proud of, and we are confident that you will go on to achieve great things in your chosen career.

As you embark on your journey to become teachers, we want to let you know that the Keystone Teachers Association is here to support you. Our organization is dedicated to supporting teachers with legal protection and benefits as well as providing a strong voice for teachers in policy discussions and advocacy efforts.

We also want to make sure you are aware that membership in the teacher’s union is completely voluntary. If you have an issue with their cost, politics or support, you do not have to join the union when you get your teaching position.

As you look for your teaching position, there are several resources that recent graduates in Pennsylvania can use to search for job opportunities:

  1. Pennsylvania Department of Education: The Pennsylvania Department of Education has a job portal where you can search for open teaching positions in the state. You can also apply for teaching positions through this portal.
  2. School District Websites: Many school districts in Pennsylvania post job openings on their websites. You can search for the websites of the school districts where you would like to work and look for job postings.
  3. Teacher Placement Agencies: There are several teacher placement agencies that specialize in helping new teachers find jobs such as PAREAPEducate PA, and Teaching Jobs in PA.
  4. Career Fairs: Many colleges and universities in Pennsylvania hold career fairs where you can meet with representatives from school districts and learn about job openings. Check with your college or university to see if they have any upcoming career fairs.

I hope this helps you in your job search!

Again, congratulations on your graduation, and best of luck as you begin your teaching career. When you get your full-time teaching position, we hope you will consider remaining a member of the Keystone Teachers Association and becoming a part of our community of dedicated educators.
