Celebrating 250 Years: Student Art Contest

The Keystone Teachers Association (KEYTA) is excited to announce the launch of our 250th anniversary of American independence art contest. We are inviting students to express their creativity in celebration of this historic milestone. This contest is open to students of all grade levels and may be incorporated into any classroom, it is not limited to art classes.

Awards will be presented in four grade categories:

  • Kindergarten–3rd Grade
  • 4th–5th Grade
  • 6th–8th Grade
  • 9th–12th Grade

All artwork must be submitted digitally through our secure intake form. Members may submit entries by photographing student artwork and uploading the image through the form. Students are welcome to create their artwork using any medium, including crayon, pencil, ink, paint, or mixed media.

Submissions are now open and will be accepted through April 30. Entries can be submitted via our secure online portal: https://keyta.org/2026-student-art-contest-form/ (you may click the link or copy and paste it into your browser).

KEYTA will recognize two winning students in each category. Each winning student will receive a $25 Amazon gift card, and their teacher will receive a $100 classroom grant to support learning and creativity in their classroom. Student winner gift cards will be sent to the teacher for distribution.

To help protect student privacy, please do not include a student’s full name with submissions. A first name and last initial is acceptable, and coded submissions are also welcome to keep students anonymous.

When submitting artwork, please include the following teacher information:

  • Teacher’s full name
  • School district
  • Student identification
  • Grade level of the student

We encourage members to begin planning ways to engage their students in this exciting opportunity. We look forward to seeing the creativity and thoughtful perspectives your students will bring to this commemorative contest.

Thank you for your continued support and for inspiring students through meaningful learning experiences.
