Election Day is November 8

The November 8 elections are getting close, and candidates are running for the positions of PA Governor, US House, PA House, select US Senate and PA Senate seats.

The biggest statewide elections are for the Pennsylvania Governor and United States Senate.

The PSEA and NEA have both recommended Josh Shapiro (D) for Governor and John Fetterman (D) for US Senate. They continue to spend member dues, in addition to PAC funds, working to influence the outcome of these elections.

Since KEYTA was founded 29 years ago, we have never endorsed or supported a political candidate.

However, the people we elect to represent us through our democratic form of government, especially at the state level, control public school funding, educator certification standards, curriculum, graduation requirements, school ratings, retirement benefits, and just about every other aspect of public education.

Being an informed voter and advocate is an essential role for all public school employees.

Therefore, for your convenience, we have provided below—in alphabetical order—a list of the five Governor candidates and a courtesy website link to their education position as well as where you can find out more information on their other platform issues. Due to the vast number of legislative and congressional races, we do not provide this information for those candidates, but do suggest you personally review their positions as well.
