Happy 4th of July and thank you to all of those brave individuals who sacrificed for our freedom, then and now.
It has been three years since the Mark Janus U.S. Supreme Court Ruling, which freed public school employees from being forced to pay fair share union fees as a condition of employment.
Since that ruling, KEYTA has seen growth in our membership, as educators and school staff can join an association that better serves their needs. We have also assisted teachers successfully resign from the union where maintenance of membership clauses are highlighted in efforts to intimidate employees in continuing to fund the unions that are not representing them adequately, even though they are paying over $800 annually.
We have recently read union communications that spread lies and mistruths regarding how we support our members and what teachers’ rights are. This appears to be how certain Pennsylvania teachers’ unions choose to handle an alternative professional education association, instead of just working harder for those they represent.
