Representative Mike Fleck, of central Pennsylvania, recently introduced House Bill 713, which would establish the Science Technology Partnership Program and the Science Education Innovation Grant Program. Under the partnership program, Pennsylvania colleges and universities would collaborate with schools and school districts to provide services, equipment, instruction and professional development for science teachers. Science Education Innovation Grants shall be awarded by the PA Department of Education to school districts, higher education institutions and science technology educational organizations that provide innovative science, environmental science and technology programs with hands-on, inquiry-based learning for students.
